Since 1984

On Valentine’s Day 1984, Frances McManus opened the doors to LaBelle Boutique in the newly built Kindersley Mall.

Born and raised in Kindersley, Frances had always loved fashion. She grew up sewing many of her own clothes and, when the opportunity arose to open a store in the new mall, she took it. LaBelle was busy from its very first day and more than four decades later, that love of fashion and community remains at the heart of the heart of the store.

More  Than A Boutique 

For 42 years, LaBelle has been part of life in Kindersley and the surrounding communities. From weddings and graduations to everyday wardrobes, Frances and the LaBelle team have helped generations of women find clothes they feel wonderful wearing. Today, some of LaBelle’s newest customers are the daughters and granddaughters of women who shopped with Frances in the early years.

And LaBelle has never been just about the clothes.

For years, our Mother’s Day fashion show and brunch at the Kindersley Inn brought together family, friends and customers, with Frances’s daughters, sisters, nieces and friends taking turns as models. LaBelle fashion shows travelled throughout the surrounding communities. While in store events, from Goose Festival celebrations to our unforgettable 5 a.m. “Wake Up and Smell the Coffee” shopping mornings became LaBelle traditions.

A lot has changed since 1984. Handwritten receipts and cash or cheque have given way to online shopping, Instagram and customers across Canada. What hasn’t changed is the personal experience at the heart of LaBelle: great clothes, honest help finding what works for you, strong coffee and a good visit.
